TMI Tuesday

TMI Tuesday just posted their questions…

Here we go!

  1. Who has been the biggest influence in your life?

Oh! That’s a tough question! I think my parents had a very large influence on my life, on the person I have become, not necessarily in a positive way. The OH certainly has a huge influence on my life, we met when I was only 19, so he has been in my life for longer than he hasn’t!

  1. What kinds of things really make you laugh?

Almost everything! My dogs make me laugh at least 100 times every day. I have a very dark and twisted sense of humour but ridiculously silly, slapstick things make me roar with laughter… Harry Hill for example. I have a tendency to make myself laugh, which can be problematic in public, when, for no apparent reason I start giggling to myself. I also tend to laugh at the fact that I’m laughing, which usually ends with me crying and being unable to stop laughing… and yes, that happens on the street way too often!

  1. What’s your favorite place in the entire world?

Dammit that’s hard!

I love Corralejo in Feurtaventura, Puerto Mogan in Gran Canaria, and Taormina in Sicily.

I love Barna in Galway, beaches in Donegal, the Wicklow Mountains, Belfast city, all in Ireland.

Don’t make me choose!

  1. Who is your best friend? What do you like about him/her?

I have a few… Obviously the OH. I know he will be there to pick me up when I fall, hold my hand when I’m unsteady, laugh with me when I’m silly and comfort me when I’m sad.

Felicity! We met last year and became fast friends. She cracks me up almost as much as the dogs do. She’s crazy, zany and very, very smart. She writes beautifully, plays piano, sings, tends to her animals, rides her horse… she makes her own freaking butter and cheese! She is Superwoman! Love ya sis!

I have some other people I treasure in my life… I think they know who they are 😉

  1. What’s your biggest goal in life right now?

Right this very minute? To get this post done, to schedule several more and to drag my ass into the shower!

As for in a broader context… I really never make plans or set goals. I float. I fly. Free and easy is my style!

  1. What was your family like growing up?

About as opposite to The Cosby Show/The Waltons/Little House on the Prairie as you can imagine!

Bonus: What is one thing about you that would surprise us?

I do a pretty mean Cher impersonation!

Friday Flash… Shattered

My gorgeous and ridiculously gifted friend Felicity over on TDNC has set her Friday Flash challenge as outlined below…

PromptShatter/Shattered/Shattering As always, this is not just a word prompt. It’s a thought prompt. It’s feeling the word you see, and writing what you feel. Neither am I limiting it to erotica. This one is wide open to your individual interpretation.

Challenge: Show me the break. Mental, physical, meta-physical. The moment of no return. I want this one so open that I’m not including a sentence.

Here is my humble contribution

Can’t Even Think Of A Witty Title…

I sit at my beloved Mac Book Pro and stare at the screen.

I got nothing…

So, this is writer’s block then?

It sucks ass!

I tried to find a funny quote about writer’s block… turns out the Internet said “No!”, so we can safely say there is nothing funny about feeling the need to write but having nothing to say.

So I apologise for today’s crappy post people…

And yes, I’ve read all the tips on how to overcome it but for today… I wallow.

Oh fuck off Linus!

Oh fuck off Linus!

Hope I come up something to entertain, amuse or provoke y’all soon…

Word for Wednesday (W4W) #07

This weeks word is…

Brace yourselves! It is the N word…

Yep people, I’m going there!

Sorry, just threw up a little in my mouth… This word makes me ill.

It is creeeeeepy…

I say it aloud “newd”, it even sounds creepy, yeah?

There is only one time it should ever be used and that is to describe a life drawing, and even then it makes me cringe.

Naked. There! That’s so much better. It’s simple, factual, to the point and it’s sexy!

It IS sexy. I say the word naked and it conjures up, obviously an unclothed body, but also a rawness of some sort.

You can be physically naked, that’s easy!

But how sexy is it when someone is emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically naked with you? That kind of vulnerability, intimacy and trust is exquisitely sexy to me. A relationship where no topic is off the table, where honesty and ‘realness’ is mandatory, where you are free to be 100% authentically you… That is sexy! That makes me hot just thinking about it.

Tell me… do you use the N word? Does it not bother you as it does me? What other words do you use?

In the buff?

In the altogether?

Au naturel?

In your birthday suit?

Come on! Join in my W4W!    Share your word with the world!   Read how to here.

25 Songs, 25 Days (Day 24)

Green Day – Minority (2000)

One night during the Xmas period, several years ago, it was very late, the wee small hours of the morning, and several bottles of wine had been consumed… VH1 on the TV and our favourite band at the time, Green Day, came on with their rebellious anthem Minority.

Up we leapt to dance around the living room. Moshing around like a lunatic, I lost my footing and fell backwards.

You know that cartoon-like, arms flailing, trying to stay balanced look? I did it.

You know that “Oh fuck!” wide-eyed, dawning of realisation look that creeps over your face just before something  bad happens? He did it.

He reached out to catch me. Everything seemed to enter slow motion…

Backwards I went, straight onto my ass. Hard!

My lower back clipped the TV unit, which left a nasty bruise and cut that remained for several weeks.

We burst out laughing and breathed massive sighs of relief that I had just about, very narrowly, missed crashing into the TV screen itself.

Then he helped me to my feet, inspected the damage to my back and we changed channels, looking for more music to dance to. Two idiots!
