Day 4: A habit I have that I like
I am a very outgoing, happy-go-lucky type of gal. I can strike up conversations anywhere, with anyone.
I cannot help myself but compliment random strangers… all the time!
One day I told the pretty blonde in the pharmacy that her lipstick flattered her and looked amazing. The blush and smile that elicited from her was wonderful and we ended up chatting about take up brands. She giggled at the end of our chat and said thank you. I think I made her day.
In M&S one day I commented that the checkout lady had a lovely South London accent and she stopped in her tracks and said that none else had ever complimented her on it. She was chuffed!
I approached a woman one day to ask her where she had bough there trousers because I liked them so much. Her smile nearly split her face in two and she was more than happy to tell me where she bought them.
Another shop assistant got the “Kat treatment” when I told her I loved her facial piercings. She excitedly lifted her long hair to show the one on the nape of her neck and advised me where to go for the same thing.
I regularly praise and promote fellow bloggers whose work I admire and respect. I think it is a good thing to do, after all, us bloggers gotta stick together!
My philosophy is that life is that tough enough so if I can spread a little happiness along the way why ever would I not do so? I don’t even do it consciously most of the time. The words slip out before my brain gets a chance to censor them!
So, I think my uncontrollable habit of paying, (genuine), compliments and making people smile is one thing about myself I do like a lot.
ps… do I sound crazy???!
